Wine cellar - terracotta tiles on deep-bed limestone. Stairway to the livingroom

The earthen basement was dug by the previous owner and refined by the present owners providing a useful utility and storage space. It contains a washer and dryer, a large well-water pressure tank and softener, a smaller pressure tank and pump for the 3,000 gallon cistern, a kerosene heater beneath a study floor vent for emergency heating during rare winter power outages. Terracotta tiles resting on deep limestone provide ideal storage for resting wine - the envy of wine dealers. Year-round temperature is relatively constant in the 40-60 degree range.
