The dining room is a rectangular space in the original structure to which the previous owner added the 3-windowed alcove to provide his wife with a sun-warmed (SE exposure) sewing area in winter. The walls to the original space are sheetrock over horizontal boards like those in the study. The floors are heart-pine except in the alcove.
