This is where we began in 1973. Another view of the home before renovation. Note the large barn in the background on the right. Old plaster walls and most partitions removed, repositioned and replaced.

A second studded wall was added inside the existing outside walls. Double insulation and deep window sills resulted. After re-building the interior walls, drywall was installed professionally. Custom woodwork was milled for the upstairs to match the livingroom.

In 2001 a paint job evolved into the complete removal and replacement of the outside covering. Insulation, OSB builder's board and TYVEK wrap replaced old siding that was completely removed.  Cement-resin siding*, fresh paint and new guttering finished the job.

Also in 2001, the old tin roof was removed and replaced by copper. A Mennonite craftsman did the work - alone! His adaptation of a bucket-lift used to place the snow angels.

A new deep-well pump was installed in 2001. Line from the well-head to the house. Water line, in; gray water, out lines behind the kitchen.

A new entry lane was professionally built in 2005. Topsoil was set aside and a clay base laid before the gravel surface.

This is only a small sampling of the extensive work that has gone into transforming the residence and grounds over the 37-years the present owners have called this farm home.
