KitchenIn 2009 the countertops and stove surround were newly refinished with 6" white ceramic tile complementing the residence's cottage style. A new stainless steel sink and fixtures were also added. The kitchen is part of the original structure. A window was added above the sink by cutting through horizontal pine boards like those in the study. The other walls, except for the stove alcove, are also board-behind-sheetrock. French doors open to the entrance porch and back patio flooding the space with natural light. It would make an ideal entrance hall, the stove alcove becoming a louvered-door closet, and openings left into the existing residence and right (where the red rooster hangs) into a new addition.
