Dining room doorway and mantel. Although the chimney thimble is now sealed, a stainless steel lining makes it a useable flue if desired. The white wall to the right of the TV was the bottom of a crude stairway to what is now bedroom #3. Living room doorway

The study is believed to be the starting point of the original structure. Perhaps a one-story shed, according to our contractor. The walls (previously covered with paper and paint - later sandblasted clean) are horizontal heart-pine; the floors are also original heart-pine, sanded and refinished. The dining room and kitchen also have these walls although they are presently covered with sheetrock. The study and kitchen porch windows are originals made with wooden pegs (at least in the case of the study)  and irregular poured glass panes.
